The Trailblazer programme in Blaenau Gwent is a community focused initiative designed to support local residents with their health, wellbeing, confidence, and long term employability. It brings together health services, local authority teams, and fitness professionals to deliver practical, hands on support for people facing barriers to being active or returning to work.

The programme has received national recognition for its approach, including a visit from the Chief Medical Officer for Wales, who saw firsthand how Trailblazer projects in Blaenau Gwent are helping people improve both their physical and mental wellbeing through structured support and community based interventions.
This visit highlighted the importance of local, joined up services that combine health, exercise, and lifestyle coaching to create real, sustainable change for individuals across the borough.

As a Personal Training Coach within Trailblazer, I deliver supported fitness sessions across Blaenau Gwent, including at Lukaris PT Centre in Ebbw Vale and Aneurin Bevan Leisure Centres. My role is to help individuals build confidence in training, improve fitness levels, and develop long term healthy habits in a structured and supportive environment.
